- Caveat: a wrong profile means reflash, so lock the right profile before shipping.
Scenario 3: Post-sale number swap
- A dead physical SIM or carrier switch means mailing a new card.
- eSIM pushes a profile OTA — customer self-activates in 2 minutes.
- Saves: shipping, wait time, and one support call.
eSIM pays when you must 'touch the device after sale'. Otherwise, a physical SIM stays the cheapest option.
