Scenario 1: Pop-up events (trade shows, fairs, sites)
Running wired internet into a venue takes a week of scheduling plus install fees; a dedicated line costs more. A 5G CPE gives you network on plug-in and leaves when the event ends. A 3-day event with no connectivity loses more business than half a year of 5G subscription. Verdict: short-term events, deploy now — 5G CPE is the cheapest option.
Scenario 2: Rural FWA (replacing copper / where fiber can't reach)
Where fiber stops, the old options are slow copper or pricey satellite. A 5G CPE on a pole covers a whole village from one signal, one-time capex. If each household pays and you share one 5G line across ten, the margin is obvious. Condition: a 5G tower within 1-2 km with a clear line of sight. Verdict: tower nearby, deploy now; no tower, don't force it.

An AI-camera inspection line pushes tens of Mbps continuously, and what matters more is low latency with no dropped frames. 4G stutters sometimes; 5G's uRLLC is steadier. But if the plant already has a solid internal LAN, 5G just adds needless cost. Scenario 4: Backup link (stay online when the primary drops)
A store offline for a day can lose dozens of orders. A 5G CPE on standby takes over only when fiber drops — cost is basically the box sitting there, and you can pick a cheap or pay-as-you-go plan. This is buying insurance, not speed. Verdict: places where downtime = lost revenue (retail, POS, services), deploy now; internal offices that don't lose money offline, wait.
